Autumn Beach Haiku … sort of

Author’s Note: I’ve always loved the discipline of the haiku as a writer. However, in this piece, I chose to rearrange the syllable structure of the lines (mostly due to memory issues) and string a few pieces together. Hope you enjoy!

*******************************************************

At the autumn beach
The pace is quiet
Sweeter, cleaner, fresher air

Ocean faithfully pounds
Seagulls swoop and dive
Fewer humans come to play

Sun takes holiday
Sand too cold for toes
Another year in death throes
